The Pewter Society
The Pewter Society was founded in 1918 as the Society of Pewter Collectors and is the oldest society devoted to collecting specialised antiques.
The objectives of the Pewter Society are to stimulate interest in and the appreciation of pewter by
- encouraging research into its history, manufacture and social context
- disseminating information through meetings, publications and exhibitions
- advising on its care and conservation.
The Society has an extensive library, publishes a Journal and Newsletter, and meets four times a year.
